"This is a review very long overdue, but I have nothing but positive things to say about The Color Bar Salon! The wonderful owner, Janet, and her talented girls have been taking care of my hair needs for the past year, and I'm so happy I found them! I had the privilege of being initially taken care of by Janet herself, after I attempted and failed miserably at cutting my own hair during quarantine last year. Janet assured me that she would make my hair beautiful again and she did just that! I have also been treated by Candace, Summer, and most often the lovely and super attentive Vina! All of these wonderful ladies have been amazing and have also educated me on how to take better care of my hair, taking the time to explain things to me and answering all my questions. "This was my second cut with Janet and I absolutely love her!!!! She is so sweet and does such a fantastic job. She asked me multiple times how much hair I wanted to trim off, she showed me how much hair she was trimming before proceeding with the cut. It's great that she asks so many times so there's no miscommunication about what I'm expecting. "Loved the atmosphere at the color bar. Everyone is very friendly. The girls took care of me as soon as I walked in offering me tea, coffee or water. The owner Janet is very talented. I went in for a haircut. I showed her a picture of the cut i wanted. As she was cutting she was explaining her method to two of the other girls. It was interesting to hear. I know nothing about hair, so it was awesome to hear a professional explain. Janet did an amazing job on my layers. I have a color appointment next week and I can't wait. "I had the best experience today at The Color Bar Salon. Let me start off by saying Janet was so helpful from the moment I reached out to the moment she surprised me with the amazing surprise that was my new hair do! I had made an inquiry to get a new hairstyle. It had been three years since I had last gone to get my hair done at a salon. Janet reached out to me directly after asking on Yelp and even offered to do my hair Sunday- the very next day and also when they're supposed to be closed. Now- I have super long hair that reached my thighs and had some split end damage. I was a bit nervous trusting someone with my locks- but she was very knowledgeable and showed me that in all her explanations of what products were to be used and why. Now when I got there Eric also helped me with my hair! He was amazing! The trust they both have in one another let me relax and enjoy the surprise miracle that they were making me! The technique and actual experience was a 10/10 they even used EARTH FRIENDLY Reusable hair fools and that impressed me. As someone who is very conscious of their carbon footprint this was amazing to see! All in all it was a fantastic visit, money well spent, and I was tended to and heard. I walked out feeling like a powerful new woman. I was sincerely taken aback in disbelief. They are true miracle workers. Started with her when she was at Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach then to her next opening at Corona. Now she has an additional location in Huntington Beach. Just as Beautiful and functional as the rest. She always surrounds herself and her business worth great upbeat stylists. "I was originally planning for some highlights, but my hair is already pretty light at the moment (naturally black). It took some significant time to get here, so it's been a tough journey lol. I called to ask if they had an appointment available for Friday. They did, so I booked it. Later that night, my scheduled changed and I had to move my original Friday appointment. I called that morning and asked if I could come in today. The ladies were super accommodating and told me I could! So that was amazing that they could take me so last minute! I arrived and Roxy took care of my hair. I went through some debate internally about whether I should wait to put my hair through some more damage. Roxy was super sweet and helpful. We decided to tone my hair and do an Olaplaex treatment. Ending with a little cut. Loved that! So made my color last a little longer before putting my hair through more trauma! They have Olaplaex products available in the salon too, so I bought No. 7 and No. 8 during my visit. Overall wonderful experience! I love my hair and it feels healthier! I walked in on Saturday AM in tears and distraught over another stylist at a different salon that over-processed my hair and it was breaking off and thinning. "The staff was awesome. We called at 4PM and they got my daughter in for a 4:30PM appointment. My daughter wanted a very unique short haircut. They were super accommodating and made my daughter feel super comfortable with her choice of hairstyle. Vina was awesome. The receptionist was very friendly. They took everyone's temperature. "Janet was closed on Mondays, so when she asked when I could come in, I told her I needed a haircut on Monday before I left Tuesday morning. Fully expecting her to say, "Thanks, but no thanks" she promptly told me she would finish up breakfast with her daughter and open up the salon to see me. Upon arrival she wiped down the chair, was wearing a mask and had me sanitize (I appreciate her protocols). She asked me the goal of how I was wanting my hair to ultimately look like look as I'm growing out my hair now ( I call it my quarantine quaff) and made sure I knew the options I had. Sometimes I find that not much time is spent asking men what they want and we usually capitulate as to not look vain. She made me feel comfortable as all get up and engaged in wonderful, relevant conversation. She ultimately gave me the cut I really wanted. Couldn't ask for anything else! "LOVE my haircut and have gotten so many compliments on it! Anna went above and beyond and texted me early in the morning to let me know that Janet had a cancellation and could fit me in last minute. With COVID they're going above with sanitizing and making sure everyone is being safe. Anna checked my temperature and made sure I sanitized my hands as soon as I walked in. "I went to this place to fix my orange highlights from a different hair salon and they gladly fixed my hair. They provided good customer service and did good job on coloring treatment. "I cannot recommend The Color Bar enough to get all your Quarantine Haircut needs met here!! Janet is a Fantastic Chief who responds to Appointment Requests ridiculously fast, and really goes out of her way to make Guests feel welcome and well cared for in her Special Mojo Lift Cave ;0) She was able to get me an appointment the next day right when the Salon opened, and WOW was I impressed by how Clean and Chic the overall Environment is. This Salon is so well organized and set up with such beautiful and Poetically Sexy Vibrations, and Janet herself is so Artfully Stunning that I instantly felt comfortable entrusting my next Creative Adventure in her hands. I found a pic of an Edgy and Fun Pixie I liked modeled by Anne Hathaway, and Janet was able to deliver it with the most encouraging uplifting Enthusiasm and Ease. She doesn't take any shortcuts and really models Superstar Professional Courtesy in every step, and her Personality is so Fiercely Tough and full of Strengthening Faith. The Prices are really wonderful considering the upscale Vibe and Pampering of the Experience, I was able to get my Cut with Shampoo and Styling with Two Badass $8 Face Masks for about $76 after a $15 Tip. The Face Masks are handcrafted by a Friend of Janet's, they are SOO Charming and Sexy and available for both Adults and Children you must come get your Mojo Charger Masks here!! "Great salon, so happy I went! Janet the owner was very nice and accommodating from the start. I was a little nervous to have someone new do my hair, but when you move away, you have to start over and I have no regrets coming here. Crystal was my stylist, she is very kind and patient, she was understanding of what I wanted and did such a great job! Also, the girl in the front (Anna was her name I believe) was so sweet! She was all over the salon helping the stylists and getting things done and just generally working hard. Everyone seemed to work well together and it was just good energy! "Best customer service ever !!!! I highly recommend this place ! The place is absolutely beautiful the staff is amazing ... when I walked in I was greeted very genuinely. I'm all about energy and let me tell you the energy was amazing . I had issues with my hair due to a bad color service from another salon and I was looking for help . I reached out to a lot of salons and the color bar was the only one who got back to me fast . Did I mention I messaged them around 8pm and I was still able to get a response . The owner Janet was amazing she even squeezed me in last minute . She explain due to bad coloring my hair might not lift which it was true so she took extra precaution which I appreciate . She was there checking my hair every minute and the only time she left me was to mix color . She stayed by my side the whole time . "It was a Friday we had been searching for a salon for about a month ... due to covid but also due to so many bad past experiences that leave you well not ever wanting to get your hair cut again. I can honestly say not once have we ever ever walked out from a salon actually feeling happy. Once I went into a salon asked for a bob hair cut and my hair was down to my waist. She started to cut it and when my hair was down to my neck she stops turns me around and says I really don't know what I'm doing. She was like I can't do the cut. I was crying I was like r u seriously telling me this after you've cut my entire hair off... needless to say I walked out and went to search for help. I have so many others But this time I contacted the salon explained what we had what we wanted she said come on in!! "The Color Bar Salon did not disappoint. I was trying to find a salon with good reviews to get a haircut. I requested an appointment with The Color Bar Salon on Yelp and they responded very quickly. I got an appointment the day after I contacted them. There was a slight miscommunication with the time of my appointment but regardless, they still took me in any way. Crystal was awesome.
