Hey! I'm Janet and I'm owner of The Color Bar Salon, I opened our Corona Location in April 2020 and  this is my fourth hair salon I've opened, I only run this one as I sold my other 3. Those 3 were located in Newport Beach, California and they were all called Studio Six Hair Salon.

I started a career in the hair industry because I always had a natural talent for cutting hair. When I was 12 years old, I took a pair of scissors, those big orange handle fiskers, to my long locks, giving myself intense layers until I looked like Farrah Fawcett! From there I started cutting my brother's, father's, and friends' hair until I was able to enroll in Cosmetology school when I was 17.

I opened my first salon in 2001, I was only 31 at the time. We were so successful that I got the attention of Beverly Ray Parkhurst, who at the time was the owner of the Balboa Bay Club, off the Newport Peninsula. My salon was called Studio Six Salon and was at that location until I sold it in 2017, thinking I was going to retire and help my dad out in Alabama.

But oh boy did I miss doing hair too much, 6 months later, I moved back to California, settling in Norco and establishing a new salon from scratch here in Corona.

When I'm not at the salon, I'm at home relaxing with my son and all my rescue animals, my 6 dogs and 4 cats, or out grooming and riding my horses.
